Overview

Raphael Kuuchi, IATA’s Vice-President for Africa, is tasked with working with IATA members and industry stakeholders to drive the development of a safe, secure, reliable and economically and environmentally sustainable aviation industry in Africa. He has many years’ experience working in air transport management, operations and consulting. Raphael holds an MBA and a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration and is a Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT).

It is the prime vehicle for inter-airline cooperation in promoting safe, reliable, secure and economical air services - for the benefit of the world's consumers. The international scheduled air transport industry is more than 100 times larger than it was in 1945 and IATA now has 260 members from 117 nations  (up from 57 members when it was founded).
