36th edition of Proparco’s Private Sector & Development (PS&D) review is devoted to technical assistance, a development instrument commonly used by all the players (international organizations, donors, impact investors, etc.).
“The financial volumes devoted to technical assistance by European Development Finance Institutions (EDFIs) demonstrate the ramp-up of these services: the amount has doubled in the last six years”, writes in the editorial of this issue Camille Severac, head of the technical assistance and blending unit at Proparco.
Propulse, Proparco’s technical assistance services
This issue devoted to TA is an opportunity to look at the many facets of this instrument and take stock of it in order to improve its effectiveness and impacts. To provide insight into this topic, we wanted to give a voice to a number of experts from development finance institutions, investment companies and the European Union, as well as the beneficiaries of technical assistance programs.
This issue also provides insight into Proparco’s technical assistance services, which are grouped under a single label: Propulse. In 10 years, Proparco has supported over 200 companies by deploying some 400 projects with €8 million of commitments.
