Overview

Pierre Jacquet is Chief Economist at Agence française de développement (AFD) and a member of the Cercle des Économistes. He is a lecturer and head of the Department of Economics and Finance at École des Ponts ParisTech. He was formerly deputy director of the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI) and from 1997 to 2006 was a member of the Conseil d’Analyse Économique, an independent advisory panel set up by the French prime minister. Agence française de développement (AFD) helps implement France’s development and international solidarity policy. It finances, supports and accelerates the transition to a fairer and more sustainable world through its public sector and NGO financing activities, research and publications (Editions AFD), sustainable development training (AFD Campus) and awareness-raising activities in France. Its teams are involved in more than 3,250 projects for the common good – focusing on climate, biodiversity, peace, gender equality, education and health – on the ground in French overseas departments, in 115 countries and in territories in crisis.
