The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) was founded by the MIT in 2003. This laboratory has designed and implemented a randomized evaluation method for poverty reduction programs inspired by clinical trials used in medicine. Through its work J-PAL helps governments, donors and companies improve their actions to support the poorest.
